Durham lifting is one of the worlds leading, independent testing and lifting supplier organisation. The company has been trading for over ten years since formation in 1996 by Mr Pickersgill and his family.
In summary, Durham Lifting has developed into a substantial and well balanced independent testing and lifting equipment supplier. The Company is now poised for a major growth step and the next 12 months will be the most exciting in its development to date.
Durham Lifting started in an era when England had to depend heavily on engineering to service its economy. Realising this, Mr. Pickersgill and his family, then a young and energetic engineer envisioned providing customers with a total indigenous solution to the testing and engineering of lifting and handling projects. To give his dream a concrete shape, Mr Pickersgill thoroughly trained himself in Design and Mechanical Engineering (HND). He gathered first hand experience in the rolling Mills at British Steel and other large firms.
Finally in 1996, his dream became a reality in the form of Durham Lifting Ltd - A company developing world class engineering and complete indigenous technology.
The family, embarked upon a journey led by a farsighted technocrat four decades ago, has carved a place for itself among the list of English entrepreneurs through the virtues of dedication, sincerity and positive thinking.
