Britannia Test-house

The largest testing house in the UK holds Lloyds approval to undertake tensile and compressive testing up to 1250 tons. Its 50ft long bed can accept specimens 30ft wide and up to 4ft deep. The recent manufacture of a 1.6 mechanical advantage lever assembly for the test machine now allows tensile testing of 2000 Ton to be carried out.

Apart from the testing of lifting and mooring equipment, component design can be verified by reduced scale or full size pieces being physically loaded. To compliment the testing facility, Britannia also offers a fill supply and manufacture capacity for wire slings, chains, blocks, shackles and webbing slings.

Hand splicing, rope plaiting, talurit pressing on rope up to 52mm diameter. A full site rigging service is also available to install and maintain wire rope.
