Supporting the next generation of engineers.
Jacob Brown returns to Durham Lifting for the summer after completing his first year studying Mechanical Engineering at Teesside University.
Supporting the next generation of engineers is something we are proud to do at Durham Lifting.
Following the successful completion of his first year studying Mechanical Engineering at Teesside University, Jacob Brown has returned to the business for the summer to continue building on the practical experience he has gained with us over the past few years.
Since joining our Technical Department, Jacob has been involved in a range of testing procedures at our Britannia Test House, giving him valuable insight into the engineering, inspection and proof load testing that underpins the lifting industry.
Working alongside our experienced engineers, he is developing practical skills and technical knowledge that simply cannot be learned in a classroom.
Providing opportunities for aspiring engineers to apply their academic learning in a real engineering environment is an important part of helping develop the skilled professionals our industry needs for the future.
We are pleased to be part of Jacob’s engineering journey.
As today’s photos show, Jacob is also a keen football fan and will be cheering on England in tonight’s World Cup fixture.
Good luck, England.
