Flexible horizontal testing

Controlled testing in-house and on suitable mobilised projects.

The 500Te Horizontal Test Bed can operate conventionally at Britannia Test House and can also be mobilised for suitable project requirements where the testing arrangement, access and reaction points allow.

The bed can pivot through varying angles, supporting a wider range of load directions and test scenarios. Existing applications include slings, hook blocks, bollards, anchors, specialist subsea equipment and bespoke engineered items.

Typical applications

Versatile where test geometry matters as much as capacity.

The machine’s geometry and mobilisation capability make it useful across a range of horizontal and site-based testing requirements.

Site-based testing

Bollards & anchors

The ability to mobilise and vary the bed angle supports suitable controlled arrangements for bollards, anchors and related equipment.

In-house testing

Lifting & subsea equipment

Horizontal testing for slings, hook blocks, specialist subsea components and bespoke engineered assemblies.

Useful working envelope

Approximately 1.2m ram stroke, accommodation for equipment up to approximately 2m wide and distributed load application along approximately 3.8m.
